One of the best decisions I made the past couple of weeks was socializing our new virtual field trip format before it was 'ready' for launch.

Your feedback is always appreciated and quite frankly one of the reasons Zoptiks is evolving the way it is.

Moving forward, Zoptiks is going to have a field trip of the week that will be broken down into bite-sized pieces daily. Each day will have 3 difficulty levels (Elementary, Middle & High School) and will contain a variety of interactive elements.

A fresh field trip every day is simply a rate at which I can't produce quality work at & begin marketing at the same time.

Upcoming Week's Field Trips

Jurrassic Jungle
Travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs in a virtual Jurassic Jungle. Encounter lifelike dinosaurs, walk among prehistoric plants, and uncover the secrets of these magnificent creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.

Week of July 3rd to July 8th

Here's what's new from our last Sunday Paper.

New Features

  • Team Plans - We now have options for groups of 6, 25, and 150 members to be managed under one account. Great for families, classrooms, and schools.
  • Lifetime Memberships - We have special offers for early adopters. By paying for 6 months upfront you'll get a lifetime membership to Zoptiks. Although we have a lot of content, I haven't shown off what our new systems can do publically and this campaign will support the growth of the project.
  • Rewards Store - You can now earn rewards such as gift cards, souvenirs, and real-life adventures by sharing Zoptiks. We have gift cards from nearly every retailer & Amazon (coming soon) as well as local experiences in your city.
  • Affiliate Program - Introduce Zoptiks to your community and get paid. Your network gets a discount and you earn reoccurring revenue.
  • Refined Letters - Our newsletter format needed a little rework. However, your feedback has been invaluable in shaping it into a fluid flow. We'll keep trying new formats to get it 'just right', be sure to hit the thumbs up or down in the emails as it lets us know what's working or not.
  • Interactive Walkthrough - There's a fancy new walkthrough on our home page. It concisely walks our visitors through what they can expect from a Zoptiks membership.
  • Website Updates - Zoptiks has always been content-heavy. However, unlike other content-heavy web apps, ours goes to the next level by embedding 3D models. Some of our models, such as detailed animals or city-scale replicas can be up to 100 MB each. That's a lot of bandwidth that we burn through. With that being said, Zoptiks should be around 15x faster than previous years thanks to our new tech stack.
  • Legacy Field Trip Migration - With this migration, I've had to migrate all of the existing content. It's been a massive project because this is work that's been put in place over 2 years. We're going to take this opportunity to refresh and 'build in public' by looping in our legacy field trips content day by day.
  • Workbooks Import - Along with our legacy field trip migration, I've had to reconfigure how our workbooks were implemented. Our workbook system is back in action and moving forward you'll see more of them.
  • Interactive Charts and Graphs - Zoptiks now has interactive charts and graphs powered by big data sets. You'll be able to visualize the numbers of various aspects.

Thanks for supporting Zoptiks!
